Isle Sing is community choir for all voices. We meet weekly to raise our voices in sweet song. Singing as our birthright and a path to joy! Our songs are from a variety of traditions and are chosen for their uplifting melodies, harmonies and messages. We sing folk songs from Russia, chants from India, spirituals, gospel, lullabies, sea shanties, Brazilian samba, African freedom songs and so much more!

This is a perfect group singing experience to boost confidence and build vocal skills if you are a reluctant singer. New singers move into song with the support of the group energy and in a relaxed, playful atmosphere. You do not have to read music. Our focus is on building a vocal community, not on performance.

All songs taught by ear and heart. The only requirement is a desire to sing.

The Letz Sing Choir, which meets in three locations in the Comox Valley, is committed to gathering weekly to share the experience of singing in harmony. The only prerequisite to joining this choir is a desire to sing with others. Whether you are a seasoned singer looking for a place to raise your voice, or you have never sung in a group before and had always wanted to, your voice is welcome in this choir.

At the Letz Sing weekly singing sessions you will acquire a repertoire of songs from a diversity of origins and inspiration. Words, melodies and harmonies are learned methodically in a step by step fashion in the oral tradition of call and response. Each session will include warm-ups for the voice and the body, the introduction of new material, as well as time to sing favorites from a growing repertoire of familiar songs.

There is no commitment to perform with this choir, rather every term there is a “Big Sing”, a casual but exciting Sunday afternoon where choir members from all choir locations gather. On this day the energy of the complete Letz Sing Choir Community raises the rafters with the melodies and harmonies they had been learning in their separate locations throughout the term.

Those interested in coming together to experience the joy of voices joined in harmony are encouraged to come try it out! All voices are welcome in this choir! Late starts prorated, sliding scale available.

Let Local Vocals be your global song machine! From Brazilian samba to Irish ballads, Portuguese fado to Canadian classics, West African highlife to American bluegrass, Indian kirtan to Cuban salsa to Japanese folk songs. Anyone can sing, everyone welcome, no auditions!

Join Cathy Baker and Dick Jackson of the Gettin’ Higher Choir for a scenic oceanside walk with “Outside Voices” outdoor drop-in singing. Typically, we meet somewhere near the shore in Esquimalt around noon, and we alternate singing and walking the shoreline, wrapping up after about 90 minutes.

We plan to be out every week, rain or shine, but please subscribe to get notices each Thursday by 10:00am, confirming the details of exactly where and when we will meet that day! The songs and the walking path we take are very accessible!

Our Vision… an intergenerational community choir that brings together people of all ages, and all singing abilities, in the joy of music. Come join us with your children, grandchildren, neighbors, and friends for songs from around the world, fun and laughter.

The Sound Connection choir is an all-inclusive, non-auditioned choir for women and men (18 years and over) who love singing. The Sound Connection is a friendly and encouraging group where we sing contemporary and world music.

We love to make connections and build community through the power of song.

Sound Connection choir uses the age-old tradition of oral teaching, that is teaching by ear, using lyrics, call and response, and recordings online.

Vocalists will receive instruction on song parts, harmony, as well as guidance on vocal technique and voice care. 

The group will have the opportunity to perform at local open mics and community events, should they choose.

No experience necessary — but an eagerness to learn a must. Attendance at all sessions is encouraged.

Spirit’s Call Choir is an inclusive, 50+ member non-audition community choir that sings to support personal, choral and global harmony. We sing from the heart for joy — a mixed repertoire from different languages, cultures and traditions, with uplifting themes, in glorious 4-part harmony. Those who love to sing and those who always thought they couldn’t are equally welcome. No singing experience necessary.  

Spirit’s Call Choir sings on TUESDAY evenings at Canyon Heights Church in North Vancouver and WEDNESDAY evenings at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Vancouver (downtown in the Westend).  Singers are welcome to come to one rehearsal per week or both!  The choir has two singing seasons – September to January and February to June.

Spirit’s Call Choir performs 2 benefit concerts a year and has contributed over $10,000 to worthy local causes including The Syrian Refugee Project, Harvest Project and The Canadian Mental Health Association.  

Before moving to Vancouver in 2014, Jeremy co-directed Winnipeg’s 170 voice Spirit’s Call Choir with Margaret Tobin.  Over Jeremy’s 8 years as musical director he helped the choir to record 2 CD’s and contribute over $180,000 to worthy causes locally and globally.  In 2010 the choir received the Mayor’s Volunteer Service Award.  We are hoping to achieve the similar results in Vancouver so, the more the merrier!  Join our fundraising choir by contributing your voice to our community.  Together we can make a difference in our own lives and in the lives of so many others.
